A 90-Year Old Man, A Bit Past The Mid-way Point, Offers Some Advice

The first time I've ever seen my dad truly vulnerable was when he had surgery recently. I'm very happy to say he's doing great.

Life comes around to the point where through the natural process of aging you are likely to lose people. It's easy to put aside thoughts that time will ever come.

There are things that happen in what appear to be the happiest of families. Trauma. My family is no different. Sometimes you may think you've gotten more than your share. There's nothing to do though than the best you can with the cards you've been dealt.

I've been going through some of my old pictures. I was one year old when this picture was taken. Which tells you something about my two uncles that I'm sitting with.

Flash forward to the late 1960's. Grandma and Grandpap would be around for about 20 more years. If I knew then what I know now... That's not possible, though, so I enjoy the happy thoughts and don't dwell on the past.

This is one of my favorite photos from a family gathering in the late 1980's.

You only get one chance to go around in life. Don't blow it.
